When we started planning, Michele said she wanted to incorporate green into their wedding day. Orange and green was a theme she had been playing with. When we couldn’t find the perfect shade of green in a bridesmaid dress. The marine blue fell perfectly into place and I think it was the perfect complement creating a sophisticated elegant feel. Enjoy!!

Some lovely details from Collin. He did a phenomenal job with the wedding! Enjoy!!!
I loved the pop of color the green ribbon brought to the programs! With our colors of green and marine blue, we added a few peacock details along the aisle.
We had three chandeliers hanging from trees and added some tealight chandeliers to the porch to keep the effect going. The white alligator skin embossed boxes (the groom hunts alligator) were filled with pralines. We searched for an LSU/UL garter but could not find one! We found one of each though (thanks Twila!) and Michele had someone sew them together.

I am so excited to show you this wedding! Michele came to me in July with two wedding date options, spring or October. She was about to start her first year teaching which I’ve heard is a tough feat to accomplish. Against what others would probably think, I suggested October so that she wouldn’t spend that entire first year thinking about flowers and dresses. Venues, photographers, etc. that normally would be booked 3 months out were available. Everything was falling into place! The weather was utter perfection. And all the details came together for Michele and Chris’ big day. Collin Richie was there to capture all the action. Here are some of his AMAZING shots!! Enjoy!!!
The first look!! I used to be pretty traditional in my stance. I thought the groom shouldn’t see the bride before the wedding. But I have been thoroughly convinced by several couples I have worked with that were willing to meet up for an intimate moment before the ceremony. They say it calms nerves and gets you focused on what’s really important. How cute are these!!

ESA chapel in Broussard was the beautiful setting for the ceremony. Thanks Christy for helping coordinate everything there.

The bridesmaids did a cake pull. The last photo in this set is one bridesmaid reading what each charm means!
Ok I may have gone overboard with dance shots but the setting was too perfect not to show off. Chandeliers under the big trees at Rip Van Winkle Gardens and a black and white dance floor from Party Central.
Several of these guests were also at a previous wedding (Jessica and Kenny) I had coordinated so I knew there would be plenty of dancing! I love these first to shots of Michele. It looks like she is truly soaking in everything that is happening.

I am a big believer that any two color combinations can look good together. It just needs to be the right shade. Today’s board is all about pinks and reds without conjuring up images of a cheesy Valentine’s theme party. The rose pink and cranberry red are perfect for a muted fall palette. Enjoy!!

I have been on quite a few bridal shoots recently and am constantly amazed at what an art photography is. These photographers are trying to not only take great pictures but to also bring out the bride/couple in the process. I came across Jill Thomas‘ work though weddings blogs I subscribe to and was so impressed with the creativity each of her engagement sessions brings. Whether it’s locations, props or poses, there are so many ways to incorporate your personality in your photos. Think outside the box. For a little inspiration here are some of my faves. Check out Jill’s blog for more inspiration. You won’t be disappointed. Enjoy!
